Layton`s in Ocean City

In town for a conference so my husband found this place while exploring the area. Only had good things to say and decided to bring me on our last day in town. Amazing hospitality and great service. Owner even remembered my husband's name and asked me about my conference (a detail he remembered from his conversation earlier in the week with my husband.) You gotta try the sweet potato pancakes, yummy!

As good as it gets for breakfast. Great wait staff. Fresh donuts and cinnamon buns as well.

Generous portions of delicious breakfast staples with excellent service while maintaining COVid safety measures.Both times I placed the order over the phone and it was ready to be picked up by the time I drove there (5-6 minutes tops)I wasn't aware of the donut selection the first day, but I remedied that omission on my follow-up visit - make sure you try the chocolate bacon donut 😋Would definitely recommend, and have already gone back during the same vacation

Great food, plenty of seating. Sometimes there's a wait for a table. But it's worth the wait. Many find memories there with my family. I'd highly recommend this place.

I’m visiting from DC this week and my family and I stopped in for a bite. I ordered the steak egg and cheese on croissant and potatoes with onions and green peppers. I requested pepper jack cheese. The server stated that she would have them remake my food. They pulled the cheddar slice off and placed a cold piece of cheese on the sandwich, not even fully removing the cheddar. The potatoes were cold and the veggies were cooked separate and just mixed in the cold food. I attempted to get the attention of the busser at the next table. He gave me eye contact but continued to ignore me. Should I be concerned that I was the only black person in this place? If I could rate this place a half star I would!!

I ordered a breakfast sandwich with sausage egg and cheese with potatoes on the side. Sandwich was great. Potatoes were ok but I will ask for mine well done next time. Service was great. I ordered to go

Good food. Service was average. Need a better description of their food on the menu. Watched my wife pick out a ton of mushrooms from her salad because it didn't say it came with mushrooms. Good restaurant. Would definitely go back.

A little bit of a wait, but it's definitely more than worth it

I've been here a few times now and they never disappoint. While waiting for our food the owner brought us a piece of Apple Fritter which was warm and delicious. The meat lovers omelet was cooked to perfection and extra crispy bacon was to die for.

Great breakfast food, my honey loved the creamed beef on pancakes which he said were fluffy. Pleasant wait staff!

Fantastic food at a great price. The owner will come around with free samples of their donuts. Some of the best donuts I've had. Highly recommended for people in the area.

Not sure if the food was subpar bc of the pandemic but it wasn't really palatable. Even the biscuit tasted off but the service was very friendly and accommodating. Thank you to our waiter and the rest of the staff.

A good breakfast place. Food was good. Service was friendly and attentive. Seating was a little tight. It looked like a long wait outside but we were seated quickly. We were lucky to have Mr. Layton walking around giving donut samples. Men's restroom extremely tight.

Really delicious breakfast food. The wait was a little long but was worth it. I did ask for turkey sausage but got regular.

Slowwww service. Food was bland. The only saving grace was the donut. Happy Jack pancake house was way better.

45 mins before close and service wasnt great. Ordered water and a coffee. (Keep in mind it's only outdoor seating available) Coffee came with cream but no sugar. Water came with no lid and black stuff inside the cup. Asked waitress to bring another cup with lid. (Comes back with just a lid) so I waited for another water with lid for the second time. Ordered pancakes for my daughter and wife and myself. 3 orders come out. Mine just happens to have some kind of bug on the plate and in the syrup. Plate send back and waitress states well you know being outside anything can happen. They lucky my daughter and wife didn't feel like leaving and their food was ok. I would not waste any money or time here again.

Great food 👌👏 by my waitress was not so great she didn't check on us the entire time we were eating I had to get up and go get a refill myself 😂 and go and grab my check myself the cream chipped beef was chronic

Sit at the counter or grab a table and enjoy all the airplane memorabilia hanging in the dining room while you wait. The owner will be around with hot donut samples to enjoy.All in all a great spot to start your day at the beach.

Brutally bad and expensive food, paid $14 for Seafood Omlette which was butchered and made inedible by 2 pounds of American Cheese, despite ordering Swiss cheese. Thrown in trash after two bites. Hash brown potatoes weren’t brown but cold and soggy despite ordering crispy.Donuts were good but avoid rest of menu.Won’t go back....

We had eaten here twice over the weekend we spent in oc. Food tasted great both times. The first time our service wasn't that great. The second, our food was presented sloppy. Being a sous chef Presentation is half Thame battle in the food service industry.

Service was incredible, servers were clearly prepared and well mannered. Food items tasted well. We had the sea food omelette and a chicken tender basket. Served hot and ready to eat. The hot and hand dipped donuts definitely put the cherry on top. Would recommend!

Mine & my family's favorite place for breakfast when we escape NYC for our favorite place, Ocean City, MD. Great tasting homestyle breakfast, great prices & they do not skimp on the service or serving sizes.

The fried rockfish is amazing, but the fried shrimp and fries were lackluster. Service was a little slow, but the staff was friendly! Will return in the future!

Fresh, delicious food served quick and accurately. Generous portions easy to share for smaller appetites. Ocean, air force and airplane memorabilia is fun to see. Family owned for over 40 years, owner Larry Layton can be found passing out donut samples daily to diners. A word to the wise...arrive early for best donut selection.

First time visiting, on a whim. Was going to go to another, more "popular" chain, but figured I'd try Layton's. I was seated promptly, given the menu; standard procedure, etc. I was asked by the owner (?) if I wanted something sweet. OK! He brought me a piping hot, fresh blueberry muffin with butter. And not the hard kind either. :) I ordered the Belgian waffle with 2 eggs & scrapple. Delicious food and coffee refills at the ready. Thanks everyone. I'll be coming back soon. 🙂

Server was great wish I knew his name but found three pieces of hair in my food I do have a beard but I don’t believe it was from me

I've only been here 3 times. It's tradition for our church youth group to stop for breakfast when we are in Ocean City for ROCK. I only make it awake for 1 day of 2 each year. Anyway, I'm always amazed at how they handle 20-30 of us. The food is awesome and the Donuts are great! And I am not a fan of donuts. Recommend.

Very good breakfast. My 4yo even her food which is amazing. Will definitely go back many times. Service was excellent and the muffins were so fresh and warm.

We have been coming to Laytons for 3 years now. The food is delicious and corned beef hash and the western omelette is highly recommended. ❤️

Best breakfast I’ve had in OCMD. I thought “happy jacks” was it - I was wrong! Although their food is still great.. Layton’s went above and beyond to make our food and experience worthwhile. I will forever go back!!! Food was fresh and hot. Made fast and very reasonably priced!
